THE TEAM

In our private favorite project JMW DIVING, we train you according to the globally recognized SDI / TDI standard.

SDI - Scuba Diving International and TDI - Technical Diving International are among the most well-known diving training organizations in the world. Since we only pursue our passion as a part-time job, we don't have to work for profit. This leaves us the space to invite you individually into the underwater world.

Jens - JMW

I started diving in 2007 and continued my education through various associations. In 2014 I was able to try out cave diving in the cenotes of Mexico and fell in love with the beauty of this 'underworld'. My guide at the time, Michel Vazquez, then became my Full Cave instructor. His passion for diving inspired me and sparked the desire to train myself. I started my professional career as a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and TecRec Instructor. In order to be more broadly positioned in technical diving, I switched to SDI TDI. As an SDI and TDI instructor, I pass on my knowledge and experience to those interested in sport diving and technical diving.

Nicole - Nic

I have been diving since 1993 with growing enthusiasm. Whether looking for colorful fish in the warm salt or fresh water, diving in the cold 'refreshing' water at home, in rivers and almost all oceans, whether backmount or sidemount - the main thing is that your head is under water if there is any nearby!

FAQ`s - Frequently Asked Questions

Below you will find frequently asked questions and the corresponding answers, or you can contact us directly.

  • When are you available?

Since we run the diving school as a part-time job and dive regularly ourselves, we have no fixed 'business hours'. However, we can usually be reached from 4 p.m. or will contact you as soon as we have time.

  • Which conditions do I have to fullfill?

The most important thing is the 'TTU' fitness for diving examination, which you can have done by a sports doctor, ideally even by a registered diving doctor (GTÜM).

You must be at least at age of 10, and with parental/guardian consent.

  • Where does the training take place?

You can complete the theory units comfortably at home via eLearning.

For the confined water practice, depending on time of year, we use indoor and outdoor pools nearby. Considering your entry level we will make an individually tailored offer on in what lake the open water part of the course will take place e.g. Nordhausen,  Süplingen, Hemmoor or at the Allersee.

  • What equipment do I need to bring?

For the diving training you need at least your own ABC equipment (mask, snorkel, fins and boots). Before you buy something, just ask us. We would be happy to advise you on this.

  • Do I need to be able to swim to scuba dive?

You must have basic swimming skills to be comfortable and moving in the water.

Either swim 200 meters in a row without swimming aid or 300 meters with mask, snorkel and fins. There are no time regulations for this and the type of swimming is free for you.

Float for 10 minutes and water treading; you are also free to use the methode for this.

  • How long does it take to become a diver?

The SDI Open Water Diver course is flexibly based on your performance. Depending on how quickly you progress in the individual lessons of theory or practical exercises, the course can be completed in just one week.

  • What do the courses cost?

Since we only run the diving school as a private project as a part-time job, we do not work for profit. Therefore, we are happy to work out an individually tailored and transparent offer for you. This depends on:

    - your experience level

    - group size

    - the course standards to meet

    - the dive site

    - your flexibility in time

  • Do you have branches abroad?

Not yet - but we are working on it for you :-)
